I heard the following on TV the other day. And while they were not referring to IF, it immediately made me think of it in that aspect.....
"The suggestion that you can totally unplug yourself from the emotions that fuel both your rage & joy...I think it's unreasonable to think that you can just flip a switch and do that..."
So many IRL people think that we(infertiles) should be able to do this and it infuriates me. I think I might have to start wearing a T-shirt that says something similar...Afterall, everytime I wear my C.S.I. shirt people ask me if I do that for a living and what's it like? Maybe, I can help raise awareness and ward off stupid comments regarding IF....if only it were that easy.
The only people who can do that are sociopaths. They have no feelings.
