Disturbing thought

I got on Fb this morning. Like every morning, I seem to waste some time there reading through people/group's postings, so as to not miss a beat. Okay. So I am just putting off the inevitable day of chores that lie ahead. I have daily scriptures/spiritual insights from Every.Day.with.Jesus. Today's post went like this:

"All of us are in one of three conditions. We are either dead, dying, or multiplying. Which one best describes you?

read John 12:24"

Seeing as I am on the computer, I'm clearly not dead. As an Infertile, I'm obviously not multiplying, so that leaves me as dying. Which I guess has been the case since birth, but not something I think about daily. And, most certainly not a way to start off my week.

Now I know this can also be viewed as the condition of our spiritual life as well. In which case, I would have to go with dying also. Ever since IF and losing my brother I have not been the same Christian that I once was... I am not multiplying by telling others about Christ and I'm somewhat at a standstill in my walk with God, so maybe I'm dead already?

These are the things I ponder this morning..... Feel free to add your thoughts as to what this means to you!

  3. I don't believe that "multiplying" in the Bible means reproducing. I believe it means bringing others to Christ and multiplying His Kindgom. Because it is not any one human's fault whether they are able to or not able to reproduce.

  4. Think of it like this: You are either not a child of God (dead), a child of God following His Will, witnessing, and leading others to Christ (multiplying), or a child of God not following His Will and not being a witness for Him (dying).

But that's just my thought on it...

  5. I am very confused about how they came up with that meaning from John 12:24.

I looked up that scripture and Jesus was talking to his disciples about the fact that his death and resurrection was coming soon. He was telling them that he must die so that he could be resurrected. He likened it to a stalk of wheat dying and the grain falling to the ground producing more wheat. The meaning I take from this scripture is that Jesus' death had meaning in the fact that he made it possible for all of us to be resurrected.

Again, I'm not sure where they got the idea that we are all dead, dying, or multiplying. Go figure!
