Does anyone know

If it's safe to drink electrolyte drinks during PG?? The brand I have is caffiene-free, but my sister seems to think you're not supposed to drink them if you're PG'ers. I dunno! I plan on asking my RE when I go for my appt Monday, but they are super delish and one of the few drinks that taste awesome right now! I had already drank a few when sis told me to check with my doc, so hopefully I haven't done any damage. :/

  1. I lived on Gatorade with my 1st pregnancy and that was prescribed by my dr..with plenty of electrolytes. If you are getting lots of sickness it will replish some of what you are losing, but at the same time you can get too many electrolytes too, but I think you would have to be drinking only that and several a day. ~Tanya

  2. I'm almost positive that electrolyte drinks are not harmful during pregnancy. I had a friend with severe morning sickness and her Dr told her to drink pedialyte to keep from getting dehydrated. I don't know how it could bad for the baby unless it has caffeine, but you already said they don't.

  3. Hi! I was very sick once during my first pg and my doctor told me to drink gatorade. She said it was the best thing for me at the time. So I'm pretty sure it's safe!!

Best of luck with your pg!

  4. I agree. I had morning sickness until 25 weeks and my doctor told me I had to drink gatorade (or something equivalent), it's fine in moderation!!
