The inspiration behind all of this:
I saw this bag at my Mamaw's a few weeks ago and told my mom it would make the perfect knitting bag. She said, my mamaw had made it a long time ago{and gave my mom one as well} and if I wanted it, I could have it. I told mom, I didn't even know how to knit, but she said to take it if I liked it, so I did!
I went to Hobb.yLo.bby yesterday and decided I was going to buy a book and teach myself to knit. They had this kit which includes everything a beginner needs, for $10.99, but since I'm a coupon shopper I got it for only $4.99!! Then, I picked up some black yarn{mainly cause I wanted a black scarf and figured that would be an easy, first-timer project} but now I'm seeing some mistakes so this will probably not be the last scarf I make.

And, my progress as of this morning! Now, sure it doesn't look like much right now, but the key word is PROGRESS. I taught myself how to knit!!!! I'm so proud of myself right now!!!! Who says you have to have children to be a granny?? I can knit and I wear little eye glasses - sounds like a granny to me. But I STILL want to have children. ;)

How neat! I really do like that bag, too!
ReplyDelete(I bet you could make them to sell to raise money for your IVF cycle. That would be AWESOME! I'd buy one!)
That is a COOL looking bag ! I envy your for teaching yourself to knit, I don't seem to have the patience for that hobby. I need someone to teach me.
ReplyDeleteI like that bag too, very neat.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to teach myself to knit too. I might try that book since it looks to me like you had success with it!
I love that bag!!
ReplyDeleteI taught myself to knit several years ago starting with scarves... and I have yet to graduate from scarves. LOL When you get further you'll have to give me some pointers. ;)
Awesome!! Cute bag!
ReplyDeleteI knit and crochet; it throws people off when they find that out about me. Guess they see a granny in their heads and, well, I'm decidedly not. LOL ;)
