Does anyone know the difference between the SPCA the humane societies or a regular animal shelter? The puppies are 8 weeks old and I cannot find anymore homes. I cannot keep 6 puppies, but I do not want them to be uthenized(sp?) at all. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

And I haven't forgotten to tell you about our vaca. I will try to get that done and upload the pics this weekend!

  1. I'm not sure if there is a difference. I do know most of them are non-kill so the puppies should be ok. Can you drop off a couple at each place?

  2. Man, I really wish I could take one of them - but getting them across the country would be tricky. :) I would recommend asking if the shelter is a "no kill" shelter. The Humane Society by our house is SPCA, but they euthanize. I believe they will transfer animals around to different shelters to avoid this as long as possible, but if they can't find a home then they will euthanize. There are several no kill shelters in our area though, so I would spend a little time asking around. Good luck! I hope you can find some good homes for them.

  3. Flyers at vetrinary offices? The last time I was looking for a kitten (vrs the ones who've simply appeared in my life), the first person I asked was my vet. She turned out to be the only person I needed to ask.
